“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance,” Gal. 5:22-23.

The “fruit of the Spirit” is the spontaneous work of the Holy Spirit in us. The Spirit produces these character traits, which are found in the nature of Christ. They are by-products of Christ’s control. We can’t obtain these vital traits by simply working to get them. If we want the fruit of the Spirit to grow in us, we must join our life to his will. As a believer, the Spirit indwells you and as you trust him, you slowly develop the mind and character of Christ. Then we start bearing fruit. Our life becomes Christ like and people see Him in us. Abide in our Lord. Allow him to flow through your life and present himself to others through your witness.

Dear God, help us live so close to you that our life no longer is a reflection of ourselves, but Christ, who lives in us. Amen
