“Commit your work to the Lord, then it will succeed,” Prov. 16:3

Often, as believers, we may not think of our jobs as something we would perform as an act of ministry unto the Lord. In fact, some commit their work to God at a superficial level. Now and then, people may say they are dedicating their work to God, but may do their work for themselves. Others give God temporary control over their interests, only to take control back the moment things stop going their way. Still others commit their tasks fully to the Lord, and then put forth all the effort themselves, as if the results depend on them. We must maintain a delicate balance in the work we do, trusting God as if everything depended on him, which it does. Our part is to trust. His part is to take care of the results.

God, when we tend to forget you as we go about our work, give us the wisdom to remember that everything depends on you and that the blessing in our work is found in trusting you for the outcome. Amen
